Clippers Coaching Team
Head Coach Rebecca
Coach Rebecca has over a decade of coaching experience and a passion for proper technique that leads to more efficient and faster swimming. Rebecca has coached athletes in all age categories from grassroots to national level swimmers. Rebecca was also a proud swim mom for 12 years, her sons both had a love for swimming and performed at the national level. Rebecca believes that a coach’s number one job is to ensure that while the swimmers work hard, they also have fun so practice becomes one of their favourite places to be!
Coach Kevin
Hello, my name is Kevin Goode and I will be one the coaches on deck this season. I live in Collingwood with my wife. I have three boys, Clipper Alumni, all attending their fourth year of University. I have been a teacher for the past twenty four years. I am very excited to have the opportunity to coach the Senior group in the mornings. My competitive swimming background is from the 1990’s, on. I’ve competed at Canadian Nationals while swimming for the Peterborough Swim Club. I’ve captained the McMaster University Swim Team while winning four Provincial titles at University. I would like to give back to the sport and community that provided me and my family so many opportunities. My philosophy for coaching is for each swimmer to achieve their personal goals while enjoying being part of a team no matter what skill level.
Our favourite thing about Coach Kevin is his love of early mornings!
Coach Emily
Coach Emily swam for 13 years with the Guelph Marlins, and coached for the past 4 years with the lessons, pre-competitive, and competitive programs. Although Emily is no longer a competitive athlete, swimming remains a vital part of her life. She is excited to help swimmers achieve their goals while nurturing a lasting passion for the sport.
Coach Emily is the lead coach for our Junior group while also supporting Senior.
Coach Andrea
As the Lead Coach for the Novice group, Andrea brings both personal experience and a lifelong passion for swimming to the role. She was a competitive swimmer in her youth and continues to stay active in the sport, swimming regularly on her own and occasionally with the Georgian Bay Squall Masters club. Beyond swimming, Andrea enjoys road cycling, hiking, snow sports, triathlon, pickleball, and is trying to find a love for running. Her focus is on helping young swimmers develop their skills and a love for the water, just as she did when she was their age.
Coach Vera
Senior II Lead
Coach Vera is the lead coach for our Senior II Group. Growing up in Belgium, at the age of 11 Vera became a National Champion in the 100m breastroke and qualified for the Munich Olympics three years later! Vera graduated as a Physical Education Teacher and also became a Swim/LifeGuard Coach. During the last 40 years Vera has worked as a teacher and swim coach in London, UK, Botswana, and Yellowknife. Swimming and teaching has always been her passion and she is so pleased to be working with our CCSC athletes!
Coach Mike
Mike has spent his entire life participating in amateur sport and coaching amateur athletes. He believes in using sport to help youth develop life skills, encouraging swimmers to focus on dedication, effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship. These attributes lead to success in competitive swimming and in all aspects of life. He also believes the path to, and preparation for, competition is more important than the result on the day of the meet. That said, if winning wasn’t important, nobody would keep score and there would be no stopwatches—life is a competition. Mike was a multi-sport athlete in high school, participating in swimming, water polo, football, baseball, and track and field, before focusing exclusively on aquatics. He played 14 seasons with the Hamilton Water Polo Club and swam and played water polo for McMaster University from 1984 to 1988. After retiring from water polo in 1995, he began competing in Masters swimming, which he has done successfully for 30 years. Most recently, he raced at the World Aquatics Masters Championships in Singapore, achieving two top-ten finishes in his age group. His coaching career includes years with the Ancaster Alligators, where he was head coach from 2018 through 2025, and his current role as an assistant coach with the McMaster University Varsity Swim Team.
Coach Naomi
Naomi is the CCSC Operations Director, Level IV Official & Meet Manager, Huronia Regional Chair, and Swim Ontario liason. In her not so spare time, Naomi volunteers as the lead for our Futures group with a focus on developing a well-rounded group of Youth Coaches to support our grassroots programming. Our youth coaches are mentored to ensure that our youngest athletes are not only learning all four competitive swim strokes, but enjoying their time in the water and being part of the Clippers community.
Coach Lauren
Coach Lauren has been a member of the Clipper community for many years. After joining the club when she was 8, she spent 10 years competing as a clipper, and then continued competing for 4 more years at the varsity level. Coach Lauren has enjoyed coaching for the club, as much as she she has enjoyed being a swimmer. Her focus is not only to create fast swimming, but to foster a love of swimming and a sense of community within the club.
